I was out at the lake yesterday and a guy wanted info about it. I told him it also worked like Whirlaway. He said no way!! And wanted to argue with me. What is the correct name for this clutch and how does is release?

I have had it out 3X it’s running good. Just have not had the conditions to stand on it. Plus I’d like to have another boat around for safety.

I don't think that it will release? do to the fact that you have the disks inside locked up with about 50 lbs of pressure and the spring in the dogs will release well before that. At least that is what has happened with mine. the clutch is the only way to go no wear and tear on the v-drive!
Scott would hold the true answer!

I have 22's in now and have a set of 29's. I'm going to try 22's first after the 22's when the 29's. I will do this at the track. The prop I got is from Ron Braaksma / RB-Props it's a 11.5 x 15 I talk to Ron about going to a 11 x 16 and he said to save my $750 because I would only pickup only a couple of ten's. So I'm going to shake down the boat with what I have. Then when I get to the point that I need more I'd like to get a CNC prop.

Your set up looks pretty much like the one in my old sled---I run a 11X16 Tom Black prop, and 25 gears worked the best in mine---the motor would pull the 29's when the blower was in good shape and the weather cool----you should be able to pull the 29's pretty good with a 15 pitch prop---put them in and see what they do under timed conditions----nice looking ride

RBprops got the molds from Tom Black so my prop is very close to the one you had. I made this spread sheet to see what the difference will be. Look how close the numbers are between the two. From asking around the most popular combo is 11 x 16 prop with 22 gears.

If you have Excel you are welcome to download this spread sheet, It's fun to see what different prop / gear combo's will do.
