Depends on the setup. Worst case is you have to put an extension on, but don't have to remove it. They range in size from 2" - 6"

was just thinking that the belt might slap it

I dunno? Maybe somebody will post that had that problem or knows if that is a common problem. I didn't have a problem with it and I had real small pulleys. I ran an extension as the water lines interfered with the belt. I ran my belt fairly loose too.

I got some pics of my blown small block at home with some decent detail. I used a 4" extension and that was all that was really needed, besides some slightly longer waterlines to the pump. I will post up some pics when I get home in a bit.

Got one of these.. Adapter from a fuel cover to Magnaflow pump. Had to make the extension.

Here a picture of the way a boat I used to have was set up with no extension, they did it all with plumbing.

what kind of pump do you have? And if it's the neovane does it have the "T" top or just to 2 ports?

You can also turn the Magnaflow 90 degrees and plumb it without an extension. Outlets go up and down, inlet gets a 90 degree into it.

For that you use a Kuhl style water pump.

Like K flat said. Use a Kuhl river rat pump. The cover comes off and the injector pump piggy backs to it. The River Rat pumps also fits timing covers that are set up for injector pumps. Also has the hex drive unlike the magnaflows.
Mike Kuhl went out of iz this year so you should start hunting one down now before they get real hard to find.
Here's a pic of one with the cover still on. They have AN ports on the top.

On my neovane pump I took the manifold off the top and tapped for fitting.

With a 'hat on top', you can just force feed the water to the motor. If you are not stuck in a "no wake" zone, it's the best. At Parker, and always at the Kings River, just force feed. If you have the long no wake zone, you can run a check valve with force fed, and an electric water pump (water puppy).

He went to the logs. Nice way to do it but it will be hard to hit the inlet plates with out kinking the hose.
You could use a 90 under the tee and get the tee out from the blower belt like the guy with the green boat did.
Bending it up with hard line would look cool too.
SweetV, you had to tap your pump? This one was already threaded.

When I was having water pump problems because of the added pulley,I called glenwood marine and Bob there said that some of the neovane pumps where threaded, so that gave me the idea.
