Don't know if you all follow the unlimited hydros, but the guy who flipped his on Sunday is in the hospital in fairly good condition. He aspirated a lot of that crappy bay water, and it'll take a few days before they let him go or so the wife says.... Lucky guy....

The K Boats Were Running With The Drag Boats About A 1/2 Mile Away. The Super Stocks, And The Cracker's Were Running With The Unlimited's. It's Complicated.

Kevins business is right down the street from mine. I had heard that a boat had crashed but knowone knew who it was. I saw it on the news this morning and called and talked to his secretary and she said that he was doing fine. No broken bones just water injestion and should be home tomorrow. He is a great guy and you would agree if you ever met him. Bad news for the crash, great news he will be fine..

There are three racing points at this event... very cool, a lot to take in. 1/4 mile is set-up off Crown point shores, S.S. and outboards circle was off Ski beach on Vacation island, and the Unl. Hydros run on a monster loop off fiesta island.

Just heard an update on Kevin on the local news. He is listed in critical condition from injuries sustained in the accident. They didn't give a whole lot more information. Will update if/when I hear any news. I raced against him back in the mid-eighties in the 2.5 litre hydroplane class. He is a guy that lives to race boats, especially hyrdroplanes. He had just sewn up an Unlimited deal that will be based here in San Diego. Say a prayer tonight for a fellow boat racer.

that would have been Rubber Ducky from over in the jet section... one of the solinoides hung open after he purged it and killed it .. broken manifold bent butterflys and all. i was bummed for him as well with this being his first race....he was a little relived as he started drinking right away after the mishap.
