Digital camera advise

I have been looking to purchase a new digital camera. I notice that some pictures posted here appear to be better than others. Does anyone have any suggestions on which brand or specs. Trying not to spend over $300.

That's what I use....
Although the new one is the S2 IS.....Get the bigger 256 MB CompactFlash card....
Check out my gallery and see some of the pic's I took with it....
You can spend a bunch more money, but Canon is the way to go....

Get the bigger 256 MB CompactFlash card
I went all out and got a 4 gig microdrive, now they have a 6 gig. The reason I did this was because the camera also takes great video.

If so I was lookig for something a little bit smaller.

The camera will shoot at 3.2 MegaPixal, but those pic's are at 1024x768....
I think I spent under $300 for the camera & card at Best Buy.....
I think they have really come down in price since I bought it....
It's really not that big........I mean, wont fit in your pocket, but wanted the zoom....

I think they have really come down in price since I bought it....

Also a GREAT camera.....

The deal was a Fry's ad last Friday. It may still be good. A Olympus Stylus model that is weather resistant, 5.1 MP, uses XD card, regular $349 for $197!!! the gig is the case is red rather than silver. I piacked it up for a spare.

love my sony.. 5.1 mega pixels. small easy to carry and even easier to use.. i think i paid right around $300 for it.

Are you talking about the OLYMPUS S-RED 500????
