Wow, that's nuts...hate to stuff that thing at speed. I wonder how fast that thing goes in smooth water?

That's the Playcraft tri-toon that was dialed in at Lake X. It's the fastest pontoon on water. Speed was somewhere just above 80. :jawdrop:

I think the one with twin 300's is owned by Barnacle Bills. I think it set the speed record for a pontoon before he bought it.

Close Mike. It's owned by the shop next door, Gaines Marine.

This was Playcraft's regatta weekend also. One of the Playcraft guys was telling me that a big-block powered tri-toon cost about $72,000!!! :jawdrop:

You can get a 26 with a 350 for ~$55k, at least that's what it was when we priced them in July.

I thought I saw one with twin 496's in it somewhere a while back. Am I dreaming  Doesn't matter because I would not want to be on either one at those speeds, besides it looks like it's going to sink just sitting there!! Why would anybody want this thing???

LOTO's top speed shootout a year or two ago had an 88mph tri-toon.
Here's an 80mph one from this year.

Are these special built toons? I cant believe they can fly like that and stay together, scary! :2purples: NSF

The boat is very tricky to drive above 70 mph. You have to continue to play with the trim on each engine. Below 70 no concerns.

Yeah, they are. The 88mph one was build by a company out of Oklahoma. It had strakes and other "things" welded to the bottom of the pontoons. I don't know but have to assume it's cross bracing and deck was strengthened also.
Wouldn't ya just crap your pants when your 75mph ***boat was blow out of the water by a nearly 90mph 'toon????

I was just coming into the channel from the north end when he was going out. As I exited the channel at the south end......he was coming back in from Thompson Bay...........
He'd gone all the way around the island in the time it took us to idle through.... :hammer2:
