Just curious what head units other Hot Boaters are running, I have a Fosgate RFX9220M, it has the anti shock memory, but I still get some skips while under way, the only way I don't is with the MP3 player hooked up to the Aux in. Pretty difficult to read the display in direct sun too.
My System has:
(2) Optima Blue Tops for power
(1) RFX9220M Fosgate Head Unit
(2) 12" subs JL WS3
(4) 5.25 Boston Acoustics
(8) 6 x 9 Boston Acoustics
(1) Hifonics Brutus powering the subs
(1) MTX Thunder 6152 highs
(1) MTX Thunder 564 highs

...Sony changer will not skip a disk :D
I believe that is the only one on the market, but I did hear something about Pyle coming out with one...don't know how good or bad it is, but the Sony had never skipped once in the worse water..

Cool. Are you happy with them? How do they sound? I am going with the SL series in the new boat.

An old Sony ES. And my sony 10 disc CD/MP3 changer also never skips. And I run the stereo on the move all the time.

4 6.5's
4 10" subs
3 Amps
Lots of 1/0 power cable
2 marine remotes
2 Optima blue tops for stereo

IPOD and a nice billet holder for it would work just fine... F'k Sony :D
That 9855 is a great headunit......

Yeah they sound pretty good, they were in the boat when I bought it. I would probably go with separates instead of coaxial, just a personal preference. I like the tweeters up above my knees. ;) As long as your crossover is set with a pretty steep slope (18db per octave or so) at around 100hz for the high pass, they do pretty good. I have two 6 x 9 in small boxes to put on the deck when we are kicking back someplace.

The Boston SL's are already in so if they don't sound good I am going to blame ROZ. He recommended them. ;)

I agree with Roz in that Sony ain't what they used to be in 12V. Fortunately my ES headunit came from an era when they were pretty high end. My big concern is what to do when the headunit eventually fails. My wired remotes are Sony........

Are those Image Dynamics???? I don't think I've ever seen those in a boat before.
Why yes they are. I wanted something a little different than the typical JL. Not that there is anything wrong with JL, it's just that everyone seems to have them. These are the IDMAX 12's. They will be getting 1200 watts each in a perfectly sealed box. :jawdrop: :D

Eticket has been awesome to work with! Larry is a great guy. I don't have any pics of the box yet. It was all in pieces when I left. It is built out of MDF and then will be glassed over. It should be nice and solid so it won't rattle. :)
They built speaker boxes into the seats as well for my BA's.

Kenwood KDC-MP828 with a music keg. MP3 never skips ;)
I prefer to play discs though, as the MP3's dont sound as crisp.
My system pales by comparison, though.
Fosgate 400.4

two pairs of Boston pro 6.5's

I've had stereo stuff jacked 2 or 3 times from locked cars inside a fenced lot, it doesn't stop a theif who knows what you got...stalkers. Is that Cascade only 75 amps? I'm surprised it keeps up with your system because your system seems HUGE.
I mainly use it to slow the battery drain down when really cranking the system. I wanted to go with the honda 3000 with the Cascade 95 but had no more room. Its really not enough but it really helps alot. Lavey ran a small water pump with brass tubing wrapping around the exhaust pipe of the generator to cool it down when running a long time.It sucks water from the lake and pumps it out of the boat. The exhaust is plummed to outside of transom. This work bitchen.

Couple questions. Do you have starting batts besides the 2150s? How long can this run at a moderate/loud listening level?
Yes I do have starting batteries besides the dedicated stereo batteries.I have listen to the system for about 4 hour ,close to half volume, till the generator runs out of gas.I wish the tank was bigger. This system is sick.

At a full load it's 4 hours. Mine is rigged up though to charge the battery while running. I guess if I was going to park it and run it all day I might need some more gas. We'll see what happens.
