No lie there. I caught a few out of a tank on the boardwalk in a little town in Maine in a past life (add a full lobster to any meal for $5) and they ($10 worth) were the best I ever had that day. :D :D :D

Now MMD...not everyone is as sensitive as you. Ken knows I am just kidding.
Heck...he probably kept them on all the way from Newport...just to protect that good-looking newly brushed-on paint.

It wouldn't have mattered if I was in Photoglous boat on Friday afternoon as the surge was soooo bad 4 - 6 ish unreadable white cappin slop. Sunday was the good runnin day. 74.7 on GPS and she flew real nice. We also did a Newport Harbor to Dana Point cruise.

The Harbormaster promptly hit my boat upon arrival to Avalon ( seriously ) there was a crunch sound but we didn't find any damage. It wasn't all his fault though, the conditions were absolutely hellish on Friday between 3-6:30 PM. Ane we were staying oon the island but went out to the boat several times a day so I left my fenders out for the shoreboat even though they have some. You need em out there.

Casino Point, water was 62 at depth (40ft) but with 7 mil wetsuits and hood/gloves ( 5 mil ) we were fine actually it was un noticeable really.

Sorry to hear that about the Harbormaster.
Last time I went out there, we left Newport around 5PM...and it was as you described. Mixed (unreadable) whitecaps...out of nowhere, there would ba a 6' hole in front of me. It was the old, "hang on...this may hurt a little"...water.
I never let the shoreboat pull up to the boat...we just waited on the swimstep.
