If you had your choice...
Which would you choose and why? In the 23-25 foot range....

Good question, as I am interested to know as well.

That's a vague question, but I like V's no matter the size.

For insurance purposes and all around family type use = the V is best due to its (generally) better storage and user friendly handling.

i chose a 22 foot tunnel with outboard power, but im a single guy and i like to play on the river. it a lot better riding boat than most v huls of the same size, and quiet a bit faster than you average v hull also.

Tunnels ride way better, performs better, Uses less fuel, pulls skiers and tubes just fine. Looks better and are just bitchen. Why would anyone ever consider a purchase of V-hull, I just can't understand. I guess there are the people that just have the cool stuff, and then there is the wanabees that own the V-hulls  ........I know I'm gona hear about this post :boxingguy :boxingguy
In all honesty, tunnels are awsome and I think there is a place for V-hulls, like my sons bath tub...haha. Once you own a Tunnel hull boat, you will never go back to a V-hull. I've owned 17', 19', 21', Vee's, and: 19', 21', 22' Eliminator Daytona's. My current boat is a 22' twin outboard Daytona and the thing is a kick in the ass. I am selling it next year to buy a 26' DCB.
I would never consider a V-hull again; and I think most people on this Forum that made the switch like I did, would agree with me. I still remember the first day I rode in a 19' Daytona. When I got out of the boat the guy asked me how I liked going 95mph in an outboard. I told him, wow, that boat rides really nice, how much are they--my life changed that moment. And I think he was a little upset that I did not mention going fast....It's all about the ride.

Mrs. Restless, did you own a 22 daytona named "restless" before? If so we drove up to your place to look at it when it was for sale. We ended up getting a 230 eagle and we seen your old boat at the eliminator ragatta last year. Anyway I would get the cat. .....faster.

After owning 5 21 ft daycruisers in the last 10 yrs, and purchasing 2 21 Eliminator Daytonas in since June of this year, I would have to say that I would never purchase a V-hull again! But the wife would rather have the v-hull.
TUNNEL HULL . The only way too go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking like tunnels are winning.
If used in 2-3' chop, would the tunnels still come out on top? I'm thinking deep-V for the rough stuff.

for lake use and straight line high speed lake use tunnel(actually a flatbottom runner bottom preferred but thats another story)
for all around use v bottom.
This would be my case and the v bottom would suit my needs better out of the 2

Once you gone Tunnel there ain't no goin back.
I guess it depends on the V you buy. If I'm not mistaken my Superboat will handle bigger water and run side by side alot of 30' cats with similar power. Most V's are family lake multi use boats. There are a few true performance ones on the market. I'd like to see a Howard V at a true 30' bottom.
Now if you plan on boating in small water I'd buy a cat for the pure airing it out feeling. Havasu gets pretty rough for a 25 cat or V sometimes if you want to run hard. Last weekend a 26 canopy Daytona lost his seat cushions and cooler while trying to stay with me in the typical Havasu afternoon chop. Been there, done that myself in my other boats.

Actually I think Drew Downs 26 American Offshore cat is one of the best buys out there right now. If I were to go back to a cat, I'd park his in my driveway.
