A bus carrying elderly Rita evacuees caught fire and exploded this morning. Twenty four people died. Very sad.

Very sad! I heard rumors of it possibly being someone's oxygen tank exploding.

Very sad indeed. Somehow, the government will be blamed for it.

Maybe not someone's tank, but the higher concentration of pure oxygen drifting back to the engine area, coming into contact with fuel or oil probably contributed to it.

Man! Those poor people just can't get a break!!
I read about a lady with 2 kids who had been evacuated from Mississippi to Houston, and her kids got to go to school for two days in Houston before the school closed up and everyone left town. They decided to head to relatives in Georgia.

Word that I heard was that a mechanical problem produced some sparks and all the oxygen bottles started exploding after the high oxygen levels fanned the fire. They had been on the bus for several hours and I imagine that the excess oxygen had started to saturate everything on the bus. Once that happened, it was a tinderbox waiting to go up. A tragedy due to our human inability to solve all problems.
