So who's got the scoop on a good scoop? I dynoed my motor thhis week and while we were at it, we stuck the scop on to see what it did. The motor definately didn't like having the scoop on it, so now I'm looking into more info on them. Thanks in advance for any help.

You may want to look at the pro-stock type of scoop (diffusion type, not a velocity scoop) we're running over our 1150's (both actually worked out to slightly above 1,200). Don't think you'd need one quite as large as ours (due to your head flow #'s) ... just one which uses the same principal of air diffusion & stabilization over the tops of the carbs.

Thanks Jack. Who makes it and where can I look at some?

Hi Scott. Check out Harwood. Neil PS- Beautiful engine. Great #'s. Don't you wish you had your own dyno ? I would love to build and change stuff all day long and see what works and what doesn't. Have a good one.

Here's the link to Spitzer's Home Page:

Their Scoops are in the 'Composites' Section.

Scott ... Just an add note ... their scoops come w/out mounting trays ... that you'd have to make/get yourself.

My brother finally painted my Harwood scoop. Here is a pic. I like it. Not many have it.
