Sorry rat F**K towel wearing bastards:devil: Just sitting here tipping a cocktail, okay maybe more than one.
That Chinook that went down this last weekend in Afghanistan was my brothers and mine old unit. 2 of the 5 soldiers were from Reno and we knew them well. One of them was the pilot and I knew if I got in and he had the sticks I was ok. He was a s**t-hot pilot and always careful but man was he a blast to fly with.
My brother was actually a full time guy in the Guard with this Chinook unit and knew them well, I was full time in the Guard also but just hung out with them, partied with them or they let me sneek away from the desk and go flying with them whenever I could.
Both of them had young kids that are now without a father. Give your kids a hug, you never know when it could change.
They are on their way home now though to be back with their families. Two of our other buddies are escorting them back to Reno. The other soldiers were from Oregon and Arizona.
