i have a jones cable tach and will replace it with a electric 5 inch auto meter......do i need a new plate for the v drive where the cable tach stuff bolts on to the casale? and if so wher do i get one? thanks

Olbiezer,
You do not HAVE to replace the tach cable plate on the V-drive when you switch over to an electric driven tach.
If you WANT to replace this cap with the "plain" cap, I'm sure several people on this site have a spare one or two laying around they might want to part with. I'm sure you can still purchase a new one from Casale if you wish.

or you can tap the inside of the cap and put a plug in it so it don't leak

just make sure you don't plug up the lil vent.

the little flip top vent on the bearing cap. if you look in from the side that faces the bearing you will see a little hole that goes up to the flip top .just tap the hole from the front side, not going to deep, but making shure you cut enough threads to get the plug far enough to hold. then put some thread sealer on the plug and your done.
