Not a newbee nor an oldtimer - I have seen that a clean & simply free to first taker, or willing to sell ads are accepted rather well, if:
1. you answer their questions,
2. let folks know when it has been sold,
3. if after the third attempt to let people know you are selling it, forget it and move on - there is no interest!
Best of luck, and WELCOME!

I have bought and sold many things on this site. I have seen others do the same. The way i look at it is not only are you getting rid of something unwanted but you are helping out someone who is needing something.
Post pics of the item if you can and be VERY accurate in describing it and you will be fine.
Now if you're selling parts for a living I feel that you should pay for some ad space like V-Drive Tom does and a few others. But cleaning out the garage and rounding up some cash to fund your next buy is no big whoop.
Did I bring up the fact that I have some used Bassetts (nice and blue for ya) for sale for 100 bones?? :D

No I sure don't. I kinda got out of the gear exchange deal. At least for now anyway. All I have left is a set of 10 deg 22 that are lightend.
Tom Bentley @ Menkins V-drives is the guy to talk to about that.
