Right, bad turn four, rollers parallel to the outside chine but the buoy and her competition made her turn sharp with this as the end result. YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE ROLLERS JUST OFF HER RIGHT SIDE DOING HER IN! This was her first time in the fast heat due to others breaking rods and she had the NORDLING Lavey outside her AND she was ahead!!! Luckily we saved the boat from the 29 foot deep river just above the Box Canyon Dam!
She earned first place in her C heat at Moses to the surprise of many. We all are quite proud of this gutsey Mom from Seattle, but not quite as proud as her parents, Lynn and Al from Sedro Wooley Wa.
Incidently, she was wearing the new flak packed life jacket and a cut resistant full Kevlar-Cordura suit! We are the only ones requiring this style of suit and they work! She only suffered a leg bruise and a headache. She's on her way to being a great inboard driver, if she so decides. Remember, this is an 18'3" big Sanger gull that was so popular at the circle races of yesteryear.

The green #8 Aquacraft is the Blonde bomber in Rons borrowed boat and inside her is my #57 Aquacraft driven by our new Champion: Ron Dubay. He said it was real different watching his boat next to him and enjoyed seeing it turn hard!
Did you notice Cherly's shoe was on in the first shots and came off her right foot in the last one?
Also noteworthy was the #17 vintage Hallet in his second race and giving his buddy Tim all he could handle with 396 power! I like the hunkered down driver profile......Maybe we can get #17 Steve the lurker to post some info about his great handling ski boat!?? He oues me for some orange duct tape! I have some more hydro pictures, who would like to post them?

Hey Jerk and Rat, Nice Pic's!!! Have to say Moses was a blast! Bummer we didn't get our last run in..
Nice to be back in the driver seat without too much reservation... I am so ThankFul!! Ya Know, I would have never been back in that drivers seat without Brian's hard work and dedication.... This is the second time he had completely rebuilt my motor in less than a week!! Absolutely AMAZING!... Not to mention he built Stevie's 496 during the break from the Ione Sinking and Moses.. What a bummer-It was running like Jack the Ripper! They always say they run the best right before they blow!!! :jawdrop:
Excited about NEXT year... The Bieser and a 496 what a SWEET combo! Jeff and the Tropicana (Hondo) with 496 and Old Faithful (better known as "Corner like no other")831 Sanger with ??????
Well we definately know that FEAR IS NOT A FACTOR.. Nothing better than a Busy Winter... Gotta get busy.... :2purples:
See you all soon-- "LilBit"

You should check out the mural on the back of his motorhome-- It has his old car's and one Sweet V-drive! (secret) If you are curious what the Beiser is gonna look like check out his motorhome!...

OH NO, dont give FEAR FACTOR any ideas.....I'm sure they are running low on new stunts ....heck, they roll cars dont they? :jawdrop:

daveA,
the A-9 rayson in the picture is mine.
it is a 1963 bought new by my grandfather for
waterski racing at Lake Arrowhead in CA.
The boat was restored to orriginal condition
in 1999 ( as per the old family pictures ).
The restoration was done by Ray Defir in prtland OR.
There was a nice article on Ray in the september
hot boat magazine. The boat originally had a 390 ford,
but now is running with a 460. This picture was taken
saturday at the Ione races. I timed in as the slowest of
17 boats that weekend, but still managed two wins in
the "slow" heat on saturday.
Boyd likes to talk about the "fast" boats on this board alot.
But the real fun at our nostie races are in the "slow" heats.

Andy, I was in the slow heat at Moses but the official title is SKI B, C, and D heats! Everyone should know we have more of these than 'fast ones' and with the new rules for these over 65 mph fast boats their numbers are dwindling. And yes, its more fun where I'm now at! Glad to see you posting as you are much more handsome than I! Your boat looked very fast on the straights and those turns you made just wowed the competition and me!
Incidently Andy was one of our original five racers to START the Nostalgia movement in June of 2001 and four of these are still getting their speed fix! He is also one of our best drivers in hitting the clock just perfect and most follow A9 from the first lap! We've had some great boating fun with his whole family but no soccer please!
