Hi all,
I am currently looking for a new boat, I will be in the US in March and will be looking to buy something while I am there. I will use this boat for Ski Racing, I am looking for something about 19ft to 21ft. Something I can put a bench seat in when we aren't racing. Something with the potential to go around 100mph with the right running gear.
Any thoughts and pics would be great
Cheers

Depending on how much you want to spend...I would say a 21RC Schiada! That has your description all over it! Good Luck in finding a boat when you are here...Cheers...

I know it's not between 19 an 21ft, but Miller has a new 23ft v-drive that I saw up close this weekend. That is a sweet looking boat and the guys that had it said it ran great.

I am pretty sure if he is ski racing in Australia, that he needs to be under 21 foot, not only to meet the rules, but the river courses have extremely tight turns. Most of their boats are narrower than ours, and usually go faster with a given horsepower because of that (less boat in the water)

obnoxious001 is right, boat needs to be 21ft and under for the river conditions in Australia.
obnoxious001, Do you think I should stick with an Australian boat like a 21ft Stephens ?
Childplay are also building a 21ft boat now I think.

aussie i GN circle race a 21 Rayson Craft at a 100+ and i am impressed by its turning ability. However I don't think they are easy to find.

Is there a reason why you aren't looking at a Cyclone hull? We have several friends down under that come over every year for the Catalina race and they seem to uniformly like the Cyclones, both inboard as well as OB...
You might want to check the classifieds over on www.NWSRA.net for used boats and there was a really nice 21' Hallett Vector for sale on this site a couple weeks ago.
Good luck with your search. ;)

I see that you are new to the boards, welcome. I sent you a private message yesterday, give that a read if you get a chance. I was down in February for the Southern 80, spent most of the day at scrutineering looking at all the boats. Let me hear back from you and I will see about helping you out.

I would talk to TFH here in the boards. I know that he has a beautiful Hallet Vectre for sale with a twin turbo V drive setup. One of the cleanest boats out on the water. :)

Sorry, I just realized that you wanted a V-Drive not an I/O. This boat is set up for ski racing, the passenger seat turns around and the back bench can be taken out. Jack Lynch use to own this boat, not sure if you know him but he is pretty well known in the ski race industry.

Here are a couple of pictures of TFH's Hallet that is for sale. The boat is super clean and definitely hauls the mail. I heard, from the previous owner, that the boat was clocked over 115 towing a skiier and still had more in it. It is a boat that was setup for ski racing and the original owner spared no expense when he built it. Twin turbo 1300h.p. motor that is fuel injected. Like I said, all the best parts. :)

That particular boat made a trip down to Australia. Previous owner was the late Wally Clearman. The boat is real good if you can get past the color combination.

Wow Danny, that would make it one of the fastest Vector's ever.
How much does he want for it?
