I have a Barry Grant Silver Claw on a 467 BBC. I was chasing an off idle stumble when I found that gas was leaking out the butterfly shafts. This is with the engine off and opening the throttle.
I call Barry Grant and talked to the Tech Support. They said this would happen if the float levels were to high. Mine are right where they have always been. I asked if this wouldn't be a vacuum leak. Their answer was "not enough to make a difference".
I've had good luck with BG carbs, but I would think if gas is dripping out, from just opening up the throttle, that would be enough of a leak to be an issue.
What do you guys think?
