After my boat has been sitting for over a month, I tried to take my baffles out, and they are stuck. I have tried the almighty wd40, but no luck. Is there anything else that I can try, or am i destined to run baffles for the rest of the headers life...

I did the W-D thing then use a small crow bar with a hook on one end and stick it in the header grab the baffle and give a couple of yanks ,then when it comes out enough to grab it pull it out . BTW mine had been in there for 3 yrs. ?

Maybe try some Liquid Wrench it seems to be better than WD40. Or if you can find some ZEP used it in the mines years ago good stuff. Maybe a little heat?

Forget the WD-40 and go pick up a can of PB-Blaster. You can get it at Wal-mart as well as a lot of other places and it has no equal in my opinion when it comes to penetrating and loosening stuff up, it works!! You could try a little heat as well but be careful if you go that route. The last ones I removed were on an old Taylor SJ that a buddy owns and we hosed them down good with PB-Blaster and let them set for about an hour and then we heated the collectors with a heat gun like the kind you remove stripes with until they were pretty warm but not discolored. After that they came right out!

pb-blaster is good but if you can find some Kroil it is better without the stink.

Go for a spin around the lake. Guarantied they'll come out. :)

Marvel Mystery oil - good chit and it smells good. The farmers around here swear by it.

I gripped mined on the outter edge with vice grips, and use a hammer on the vice grips so you get a turning motion while you pull. Kinda like unthreading them. Worked for me.

I find that a cut-off wheel or a plasma cutter will remove just about anything metal...oh did you want to save some parts. My bad. ;)

That's why I leave mine out. :) I always take them with me, just in case, but they always end up rolling around in the back of the truck. Never had any problems but bet your ass if I left them at home, I'd get nailed. LOL. What kind of baffles do you have anyway?

Greaser, go to the lake and get them hot , then spray the heck out of them with a Good penetrating oil NOT WD-40 it is too light , then take a soft rubber mallet and give them a few raps just enough to try and rattle them loose, you may even try to grab them from the inside with one of those Slide Hammer attachments too? might have to get creative ?, hope it works

Thta's what I was thinking. They don't give you much to latch onto. You might try something like Liberator was saying. Something like a slidehammer/bearing puller. I've got a 3-pronged bearing puller that would prolly work. If you ain't got one, try Autozone. You can rent them for free.

I finally got em out. I soaked them with a penitating oil and used a slide hammer and they came right out.
