Its time for the first oil change in the new truck. I was wondering what everyone runs in their diesel's. I have heard good things about Amsoil, but I am not sure what to run

Dello 400, it's 15/40. Use a Wix filter that you can get at Napa. Costco has a good price on the oil.

yep, me too. though last week when i got the filter at napa i saw they had the dello for cheaper than what i pay at wallyworld (wallmart). if your set on the amzoil, napa also sells that too. ive used it in the boat and it seemed to hold up well.

Exactly what he said! From all I have heard/read, there is no better (reasonable) combo!

This is what I have used..... Seems to do the job, although every deisel is going to burn the oil, so find something that is going to benifit the engine, and be soft on the wallet.... But make sure you do not go too cheep, since they are know to burn it!!!

Just don't let the F**in gorilla mechanic tighten the filter and drainplug like he did to mine!!!
I was compressing the suspension using the filter wrench on the filter (yes, I was turning it the correct way!) trying to get it off. It finally moved after collapsing the filter in two places. Oh, yeah, I had to use a breaker bar to get the drainplug loose :220v:

I use Delo400 from Costco - best price I have been able to find. I use Baldwin filters, which I think are some of the best quality filters you can buy. Don't forget to change the fuel filter every 10,000 when you change the oil. Factory recommends the fuel filter every 15,000 but with the injector problems they have been having and the probability of getting bad fuel - I change mine every 10,000.

Yeah, could be what with the desk job and all ;) But when I saw the suspension moving when trying to turn the filter, well.....
