I wanted to go with a 20 rim and a 35. But may reconsider as I like the idea of having a sidewall and the ablity to airdown in the desert if I want to..
What brand rims are these?? Anyone have a site that will alow me to look at my RIM options of the 2500HD??

Charley

Those are 18's and I personally dont think 20's or 22's start looking good till you go 40+ tires

Geez Charley-- now you have me rethinking my plan. I just ordered a LBZ Duramax from Jay and I planned on doing a 6" lift with 20" wheels and 35's...but not if it puts me in any category with Toby :D :) Actually, you are right, there isn't too much tire there, maybe I need 18s...or a bigger lift and 37's :) Thanks again for making me rethink everything.
Oh yeah..not to jack the thread, but I think I'm going to get off of the 'tirekicker' bandwagon. Since Toby is moving out of the club, I think I will too :)

Look closely at offering #2 It's a 37 not 35...still looks a lil goofy to me but It definitely looks alot better than the 35 on 20's up above..it's yer truck...but thats my personal opinion

If you are doing a 5th wheel I would look closely at the load ratings on your short list of tires and rims.... I also have been told by many that the jump from 35 to 38+ really is the place where you should seriously consider gear change.....granted the Dmax will probably hang on it's own, you probably won't be happy towing... I was so close to doing the 6" cst w/ 35 x 18 and decided last minute to up the ante.....there is NOTHING wrong with that setup, just be sure those 20's are the look you want and that you have the load rating on the tire

Willie - The rims in that picture are Diamo 8 Karats. I have the new Diamo 16 Karats. IMO I wouln't go 20" rim unless your tire size is 37" or above. Here is a picture of mine 18 x 10 on 35's.http://www2.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/97Twins_Ford_033.jpg

20's with 38's. Sorry for the poor quality pic. I think 38's look good on 20's. No loss of power. Duramax with the Edge Juice, Airraid and RBP exhuast. Runs real strong.

Willie, I have ridden in trucks with the 38x20 combo and 35x20 combo and noticed absolutely no difference in the stiffness of the rim over bumpy concrete freeways...I think you might notice more of a diff if you go with 40+, but then you need more suspension.
Personally, I did not want to go to a 9-11 CST lift...I think the 6-8 is high enough, and going bigger is just more of a headache, when loading things into the back, and if I want to do a 5th wheel...
I went 6-8 CST with 35x20's cause I wanted to leave the gearing alone and not be too tall...the price between the two lifts is nominal, but tires start going up when going the 37+ range....it's all a matter of preference... I can't get to the image gallery from work, but there is a pic of mine with the 20x35 combo in it, and I like it and others always compliment it....but again its personal preference

I have a couple friends with big wheel combos (22's) and they complain about a harder ride. The guys with 20's on down say they can tell no big diff. I'm looking for some 35X12.5R18 Toyo MT's. Anyone have a shop they can recommend? Good info on this thread. Thanks.

LMAO....Ask Roln you guys can share bait and switch stories; he was going to buy it too...(sorry guys)...I kept asking my wife..."should I sell it" and she finally said "if you are questioning it that much, keep the dam truck, and buy a daily driver car if you must, cause you are not getting another dam truck and fixing it up after you are bummed you don't have one"...so I decided the keep the truck and look for a driver....I am thinking Ghetto Bentley SRT8...:)
Good luck tire/wheel hunting...also sounds like you are looking for a F26 ...boy you copy Toby on everything...:)
