I'll be there in the infield, getting there Thursday night, if you want to swing by we are on the backstretch in 5-2-221, right at the entrance to turn 3.
Look For a big Smiley Face flag under the California Speedway flag and Old Glory.

Gonna be some fun!! Too bad the LA area does not support open wheel racing like it used too, I've been going to Calif. Speedway since it opened, and some of the best racing ever has been there, i was ther for qualifying the day DeFerran broke the Record and still get goose bumps, and when Jimmy V, won the then fastest race ever. Too bad IRL is not going to be making it back here for sometime or at least not in the near future.

How much are the tickets for this? Anyone know? I am hoping to be in California next weekend and this might be fun to do as well.
I worked at the California Speedway once right after high school for some racing event in the summer (can't remember what it was), Art knows what event was taking place, he got to watch it! lol

Last IRL race here. I used to go to Riverside Speedway, saw the first and last races there, then went to Ontario Raceway, saw the first and last there, and I went to the first race at California Speedway, but won't go this week for the ending.
Think I'll go to Irwindale this week to see if Jessie gets into another fight...

Went to Riverside as a kid and as i got older started to race, ended up doing SCCA Cal Club races, last race at Riverside was an Atlantic race, got a piece of the start finish line while they were breaking it up, still hurtsd to see the Mo Valley Mall on the old speedway grounds, Went to the Big O for the Cal Jam Concert, and for the Indy Car races, watched some Porsche Club races and crewed for a few folks, those were good times for sure.

Now that would be fun, but Tony G is not going to give into CCWS no way no how, and we the fans suffer for his and the Champ car owners Ego's.

If Tony George were to go away, you would see a big rebitrth of open wheel racing in the United States.
