I got my lazy ass up on saturday and rode down the street to check out the SD bay races, here are some pics. Great time and anyone who is into boating would love these races, High HP little boats and huge balls skiers holding on behind. Great time and great show put on, tons of awesome hardwear.....

21 Nordic..this guy was the man, running that boat hard on the line playing catch up to bigger HP boats. Whoever you are, you drive that boat like you stole it..goodtimes

the biggest little boat i have ever seen. you get the picture. the canopies actually look really good on the little V. I think it was a 22ft with twin BBC/Imco drives.

That Lake Mead race was alway's a tuff one. Especally during the 75 mile race, when you see that the leaders have the checkered flag but you have to do another 25 mile lap to Beacon Island and back.

which orange boat?

there were two orange boats. one being the twin engine monster with canopies etc. Warpath.
the orange 21 is a nordic. Nordic 21blaze. after seeing that boat in action. it would be a fun boat to own if you were not scared off by rough water. The driver kept the hammer down through rollers and chine dancing. It was an amazing display of driving.
Awesome race and next time look for me on the beach cruiser with my dog.
ill put some more pics up 2nite if i can dig them up.

The men will run well over 100 on the straights on decent water. The girls are pushin 100 too. Sloppy water obviously requires slower speeds.
Some of the boats are capable of much more. For example Avila's twin (the orange one) will go a buck forty +. So running at 100 is about 1/2 throttle. Most the later boats, cyclones, 210's, and some Schiadas are in the 100-120 range capability wise depending on power. And this isn't quarter mile capability but marathons of up to an hour.
