I found some pics of my last motor that I had in my Daytona, 540 CID, 13:1. Boy was that fun. Though it would interest some.

What made you go with Edelbrock heads vs Dart, brodox?
How-bout some #'s from that motor.

FYI, that motor fell into my lap. I had no choice on what was put into it. I just bought it. Personally I would prefer the Brodix or Dart Pro 1 CNC.
It was 540 Merlin II block, 13:1 JE's, Alum edelbrocks, Vic Jr, roller valve train, 709, 282, (had those neat spring loaded solids), double roller, etc.
Never dyno'd, I don't know estimate of HP. (I don't want to venture a guess and "offend" anyone)
All I know I went from 5200-5300 rpm (on "really tight" A) with my old 502 to 6,100 just by dropping it in. close to 200 hp pick up!!..
It made a big difference because the old 502 didn't pick the nose of my boat up and this one did, big time.
I wish I had more #'s but I sold it before I got done testing.

Actually the reason I posted the first picture is that I was impressed with the quality of the bottom end I bought. It was much better than the 502 I had. Better crank & rods. Price was good too.
Place called Ohio Crank. Their on the web.
It looks like I am going to buy the same exact thing all over again but slightly different.

This place was recommended to me by a guy who was racing at the Nationals here earlier this year. Apparently they are well thought of around this part of the world.

Ya, they are in your neck of the woods. Ever hear of them?
I was impressed (but thats not saying much) My friend said they used to sub for some big name, well respected outfit but we don't know who.
Needless to say they got a repeat customer in me. :D
Plus if I buy out of state then I don't pay the 8.5% sales tax to the people's republic of California. :D wink

I've since heard very good things about their products, they manufacture for other retailers.

Info was right (as usual) They were crane stud girdles.
They are good for Marine. They are aluminum and coated too.:)
