I need some help from each of you to do some research for myself. If you could please respond with an answer, I would really appreciate it.
I am working some new product packaging and need to know what color scheme that you like at first glance.
Please let me know which of the 2 that you like better.
Red or Blue and if you could give a brief explaination, that would help me a lot.
Thanks!

I would use the RED.... The White Letters jump out better, and the Car looks better with the Red back ground..
Goodluck with the product...

You can always do it again. I know some low people in high places who could help you. :D
Please keep this quiet, it is supposed to be a secret (the labels).

Go for the red. Stands out better and more noticable at first glance.

The red. For some reason it seams more "powerful" and stands out more.

The car looks better with the red lettering but the words are easier to red with the blue background. Just my .02

I'd go RED, catches your eye right away....

When I looked at the Red I immediately thought of the Maguires line. The packaging and color scheme is very similar.
Maybe not a bad thing, but I still like the Blue better.

Blue...cool color, I associate red with hot, water spot leaving weather

Blue does it for me. As mentioned already, blue is a "cool" color and "cool" is what I want to think of when I'm washing or babying my car's finish (think of the garden hose and washing your car in the shade when the sheet metal is nice and cool).
Red, on the other hand, is a hot, harsh color and doesn't make me think that I'm going to be babying my car's finish (think hot sheet metal, scratchiness, etc.)
Good luck! :)

I think it looks cleaner and reminds me of water......= ......clean

Red stands out more. Its a hotter color then blue which can send subliminal messages that your car will be hot.

I perfer the color blue over red, it feels cooler and I think would work better with reference to car care.

Blue makes the car look brighter..

Blue makes me think of water and like others have said makes one think of clean. I find the name brand blends in too much with the red background - might recall the packaging "that stuff in the red package" but not the name; whereas with the blue background the name brand stands out more.

My first glance is at the red one because it shows up on my monitor first...

Blue, the red just looks like it's an old I dunno, dated product.

blue has a calming effect as opposed to the red. maybe a consumer would see it as more relaxing way to wash the vehicle where as the red feels like it would require more energy(?????)

When I first opened this thread I thought I would like the red (my favorite color) but I have to go with the blue as it more pleasing to the eye in this ad.

The red is more eye catching but like boatcop said the first thing i thought of was meguires... I would still go red, blue looks a little to low key. :D

I prefer the blue, for some reason it seems to "jump out" at me over the red.

Just a side note to those interested....the stuff works as advertised...I dont sell it anymore because there is now a dealer on every corner...I still make everyone I paint a car for buy a quart, because you can use it immediately after new paint ....and the paint can still breathe thru it...and wont become cloudy...It also does not build up like wax ...and leaves no white residue.....just thought I would share... :D

The red has a more high quality, expensive look. I actually like the blue package but something about the red says "buy me".
The red also seems to catch my eye quicker, not as subtle as the blue.

Both look real nice.
Red does stand out (assuming it will be on rack with other products not in red...like Mothers and McGuires stuff:).
Like they say red cars get more tickets than any other color, so I guess there is something behind color choice.
Marketing details can sometimes be like trying to seperate fly crap from pepper can't it? :D

Blue. It's cooler than the red and the label is easier to read with the Blue. The product name seems to fall back a little with the red and stands out with the Blue better.

I read somewhere that you are more likely to get pulled over driving a red car than any other color vehicle. If red works for cops pulling you over maybe it will make consumers take a little notice. I know that the red jumped out at me, more than the blue did. It has been awhile since I have purchased a waxing or washing product but doesnt the Mcguires have more of a deeper red almost leaning toward maroon packaging. They both look nice maybe do a little different color on the writing for the red packaging so it does not blend quite so much.

The red one lets the letters jump put more. The blue one kind of lets everything blend in.

I think a red looks better in a blue background than a blue in red....

I've read about various market research done before and blue was one of the top colors to attract the human eye.

As far as color goes, use blue.
But that's the color. The rest of the package doesn't seem to do a good job of communicating what the product is and why it's good (better). :argue:

There are a large number of males in the population that suffer from various degrees of red/green color blindness. This being the fact even though they can see red as red they would be drawn to the blue at first glance.

I think blue is the best. It's the water color. Our sea-do is blue and we ride Yamaha's that are blue. So go with blue. Only my 2 cents. :)
