I was wondering "How do you like your cornbread?"
Sweet? not sweet? With buttermilk? W/O buttermilk? Butter or shortnig? corse gournd? fine? "jiffymix"( for those that can't make it)? do you like other things in it? muffen or skillet?
The reason why I am asking is this weekend I am having some ppl over. For black eyed peas, steak, corn bread and beer. Since I am going to have to make more then 1 batch of cornbread I though I would see how some other ppl like and maybemake diffrent kinds. I am just trying to get a feel for what others like.
Personally I like it corse with 1/2 butter milk, half whole milk , small amount of butter. shorting, and not sweet.

I don't know about the ingredients, since I just eat it (I don't know how to cook it).
I like it coarse, not sweet, but most importantly not dry. Mmmmm.
Happy cooking. :p

I like it sweet. Couple tablespoons of sugar or honey. I use the recipe on the Clabber Girl Baking Powder can and add sugar.

I love black-eyed peas, too. What time should we be there, Yellowboat?

I love my cornbread made with White Cornmeal, and Butter Milk, the directions are on the white cornmeal box. I love the reaction of the butter and the white cornmeal, and buttermilk. That is the way my grandmother made it.
