I have a 1979 26 Ft. Sleekcraft Ambassador. It originally had a 350 & mercuiser i/o. The block was cracked and,of course, the i/o was broken. I had a shop cut the hull and modify the transom for a Berkley jet. The interior was shot except for the part in the bow. So, it now has no interior from the dash back, no engine & no jet. Basically an empty hull set up for a Berkley. The steering and controls are still the originals and the gauges are there but, I have no idea if they work. I have a couple hundred sets of Faria gauges so IÂ’ll throw in a couple sets. The floor is good and the stringers are good (they go from transom to the dash). It sits on a Roadrunner trailer that needs attention. It has new tires and the bearings are good and recently repacked but the surge brakes donÂ’t work.
IÂ’ve heard it all before about how this boat is too big for a jet but, Sleekcraft built this same hull with a jet and IÂ’m inclined to believe that they know more about it than some of the folks on these boards. No it isnÂ’t fast. Well Duh! ItÂ’s a 26 Ft. Daycruiser.
Sure you could make it fast with a truck load or two of cash but, thatÂ’s not what it was built for.
I tried to post pics but kept getting an error message. You can go to Hot Boats Gallery and search on sleek26 and see some pics. I have others I can email if youÂ’re interested.
Bottom line is I would like to trade a big boat that needs interior, engine and jet for a smaller boat (18 to 21 Ft) that only needs the engine and jet.

I just picked up a Omega jet. I am taking the engine out and selling the boat and trailer. It has a jacuzzi pump in it that they say is just rebuilt. I don't have pics as I have not even seen it yet. My dad picked it up for me in Vegas. I think it is around 20ft. Needs TLC but the hull looks solid I am told.

I have a Sanger Super Jet here that can be set up fairly quick.

Hey TaylormanSS,
Yea, I was draggin my feet cause I really hate to let it go but, sometimes when your circumstances change your plans have to change too. The lakes around here are pretty small and I'm really not up for buying a gas guzzling truck that I would only use to pull the boat. A smaller boat just makes sense.
