I've seen trailers where the jet ski or skis are hauled above the boat, but has anybody seen, or built a trailer where the hot flattie is above the family tugboat. Its going to be another winter project. I'm not going on vacation again, without something fast. I can do without a camper, but I can't do without a ride. The wife can't do without the tug. Anybody seen one of these rigs?

what a great idea, and know I have never seen one. But think about what this is going to take. First a trailer strong enough to hold both boats, a car big enough to tow them, then a tounge on the trailer that is long enough so you do not have to sink the truck. It does not seem possible to life the boat off the top so you are going to maybe have a hydrolic lift that folds down that would be cool. If you pull this off or start to do please post some pics. I would love to be able to do it with my setup.

IF (big if) memory serves me correctly, Froggystyle was thinking about doing something similar. He may have some ideas.
I think it's doable, just need to do the hydraulics on the trailer.

There is one guy who is building a trailer that will do what you need. The top is hydraulic and lowers to the rear all the way to water level. I will find his number when I return for lunch today.
If anyone has been to the recent boat or sand show here in SoCal he's been there, I just can't remember the company name off the top of my head.

Sorry, the card for that trailer manufacturer is at the other house and I won't be there till Friday. I will check the thread and if you still need it I will post it from there.

Pete: I would like the manufacturer, if you get a chance. No problem pulling a trailer with a power stroke. If the bottom boat has 4" channel and you add one or two axles, you can have a GVW of up to 14,000. A 12v hydraulic pump, and one should be in business. The geometry would be my problem.

This gives you an idea of how it works. The only thing I was bummed about is that you can't lower the top with the bottom loaded because the top won't clear whatever is on the bottom. I didn't want to have to unload the boat every time we wanted to load or unload the lake lice. Other than that it was a sweet setup and worth looking into.
