As I stated before I have Bassett Long Collection headers. They are blued mildly and I would like to have them re Chromed this winter while it is down. I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions or might know of any place or methods that are better than others.
Thanks for the help

Personally I would have them Jet Hot coated. Chrome is too much maintenence and will re-burn if your not carefull.

Also, by the time you pay for a re-chrome, you could almost buy a new set.

Just sell them for half what you paid for them and buy a new set. Bassett loves the business! Budlight

the guys are right. rechroming is very expensive. cheaper to sell them on the boards here and buy a new set or have the old ones ceramic coated.

Also, rechrome is never as good as the original time they were chromed from the MFG....

I would deffinatly HPC the headers. Up here in Northern cal I got mine stripped and coated for $400 bucks. He even coated the inside of the bell. The work is awsome and there is zero color change even after many heat cycles. Not only that but the cool down time rate is a 1,000 times faster. NO BURNS!!!! The place I went to gave me an unlimited warranty with a free recoat if I somehow mess them up no questions asked.http://www.norcal1320.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10085/headers%20on%20cole.jpg

Coated is the way to go. I run mine dry, usually no more than 15-30 minutes at a time @ WOT, no color change and they cool off fast. I'm running pretty lean too-Aluminum Squirt
