here is a lil eyecandy for you flattie guys! This boat was so impressive with all the "little things" done to it! I left a gallon of drool on his hull. I mean it has so much detail to it. I will get more pics when I see him again! I believe it is a 72' howard.

wow, thats laying it on thick, but most v-drivers do lay it on squirt gunners. :)
You want smooth, you go with a cruiser, I have riden in MANY v-bottom jets and they are not too far off from a flattie, not at all!!!

This cruiser rides in about anything you throw at it, runs 57mph with 40 gallons of fuel, 6 passengers and 350hp!

You know me 396! :)
There are some kick ass cruisers. I will never forget the ride in a 21' 502 blown Schiada around Lake Perris. The touch cav adjustment on the steering wheel was slick. I forget who the guy was, him and his son were hardcore GN racers, they are friends with VDV.

Any jet cruisers running mid 50s with 350hp, 6 passengers and 40 gallons of fuel?
:)
Or how about even mid 70s with 350hp in a flatty?
I am just baiting LVjetboy to get in here.

I don't want to get into the whole jet vs v-drive thing. They both have their advantages.
You asked about a jet cruiser running mid 50's with 6 passengers and 40 gallons of fuel. My 20.5 Sanger jet runs low 60's on a stock 454, berkeley "E" pump with a full 50 gallon fuel load, skis, coolers, wakeboards and my family of 5.
Would it be faster as a v-drive? Probably. Is speed the most important thing for a family cruiser? Not to me.

I actually retract my 350 estimated HP.
It is a stock 460 straight out of 77, with D3VE heads. STOCK
What kind of HP do they turn? low 300s?

Continuing the "my dick is shorter" contest... :D
The 454 in my Eliminator is mild... Stock oval ports, 500/500 E-brock cam with and dual plane w/ 750 Holley DP on it, exhaling through logs.

I am going to bet the 460 is putting out less hp than the 454.
You chevy guys always say they make more power right?

I did the opposite, I did a friend's motor after he dynoed it and it came out almost to a tee. You have to remember the program only goes by what you feed it, the menus are just ballpark figures you need to feed it all the info exactly what the motor has in it, the latest version is very accurate and what's cool it has a "what if" so you can play with numbers to your content!..

You have to have head flow numbers or this program can be way out in left field sometimes. Like Art said it can be fairly close if you have the right info, if not ???????

The reason I asked the name is it looked like Rififi wich was Bob Dyars Ski Race boat in the 70s. Bob passed about a year ago Bob was also a member of the LA Roadsters . For the record Bob Dyar could drive the crap out of that thing .

You are very correct on that!! I believe that this boat had the record for watersking. I got the run down at the lake but I forgot some of it. Randy dyar owns the boat now. I think he is the son or grandson of bob.
