i have a set of bbc 500hp rec port heads, but how do i figure out what casting the are? do i just look at the serial # or do i have to cross ref. that? #14097088

I have a pair of Merlin 310 cc intake square port 119 cc chamber heads for half of new. Set up with hydraulic roller springs.

this is what i found for info on the heads
14096802 Service 14097088 Iron Cast Open 118cc I: 2.19"
E: 1.88" 325 Rect. Square
they are very mildly ported, so i do not know what numbers if any that would increase.

oh yah, $800.00 with manely heavy duty valves,springs, and retainers. used but in good shape. i have the dart 500hp alum. intake to go with it for $200.00 more.

hey fastsanger, im pulling my 990 heads off this week for a set of AFR heads. the 990 heads have only 5 hours on them from brand new. there coming off of my LS7 crate motor. I live down in the bay area but i go up too yuba city once a week as im buying a house there. :D
