View Full Version : Who do you insure your Cat through?

Just curious who you guys use. I have done a search on here but no clear answer. I hear that a 27 might be easier to insure then a 25. Why is that?

for some strange reason :notam: most companies have a biased against shorter boats. Some of them draw the line at 26.' They prefer a longer boat for high H.P. applications. They consider 500 HP too much. (even though we don't ;))
Thats not to say that getting insurance on a 27' is any easier.
I found it difficult to insure my 25'
I know some of these guys use an insurance guy in L.A. Hopefully someone can help you out with his phone #.
Otherwise contact Markel and Progressive.

What kind of horsepower are you talking about with the 27? Markel told me that they will insure 26' and above cats with big power but nothing less than 26' with big power. :confused:

Does it come with a big gold chain too?? :D Seriously though I was thinking about a 25 with 700 horse. Cant find anyone to insure. Even if it had just a 496HO.

You need to call markel water craft division @ 800-236-9283 they insured my 25 with no problem, but markel high performance would not.don't ask why !!!!!!!!!!!!!
