Headed to Texas huh??? Just a coincidence, but doesn't a certain someone on these boards currently own a 368 with an open cockpit, that just recently listed it for sale, and mentioned in another thread that his next boat would have a canopy. Funny, this same person does business with a certain Skater dealer that just happens to be in Texas. Funny, all of the sudden this certain person has photos of a new 368 with a 4 man canopy. Like I said, must just be a coincidence. :D

Oh yeah, this thing is BAD ASS...
From the looks of it, it would appear that it is getting a rudder set up on the transom?
Who ever says that Skaters are dated and out of style are complete idiots. How can they be dated and out of style if everyone that leaves the factory is different and unique from the rest?

Know that I look at this picture a little more, what is really going on in the rear of the boat. Looks like they have built a tunnel extension like normal, but boxed in the whole rear end and added storage. What else can the rear deck hatches be for? If that is the case, where will the exhaust and drive shafts go?

That's what I'm thinking too...Looks like some kind of shaft drive to keep the props under the rear of the boat. If you ask me, it looks like it's going to be the worlds fastest family performance boat. Keep the props under the hull so you don't cut yourself on the props, 4 seats for the family and a trunk in the rear for all of the sand toys and crap that the kids need on the beach. :D

Nah, it's not mine. Leon Derebery (sp?), he has a 32' that's listed for sale (Bullockmarine.com), that goes 160, I think.
He's rigging it and putting in some sick amount of horsepower, looking to do 230mph at the shootout 2006.

Alright, I'll let you slide on this one. :D
230mph from a standing start in 1 mile, in a 36' boat is probably a pipe dream. 230mph on a rolling start kilo run would even be tough. All I can say is more power to those guys and good luck. Heck, they got a 32 Classic to run over 160 at the shootout, so who knows. :supp: :2purples:

I think I heard turbo'd motors so maybe he'll just run zoomies for pipes.
I'd assume the back extention is just for the rudder and surface drives with access hatches above :notam:

I wasn't doubting what you said, just doubting the speed they think they can achive at LOTO. I mean Dave Scott has the fastest piston powered offshore boat on the planet, and he isn't coming close to 200mph at LOTO, so 230mph is going to be something else. I wish them all the luck in the world and I'm sure that Leon will definetly see some very big numbers out of that thing. Them Texas boyz got some big balls when it comes to hanging it out on the course. Can't wait to see it when it is finished. Maybe we can get some progress reports during the build. :D

David Scott is not that far from 200. He hit 189 on his GPS so 200 is close and Scott does not have the HP and drives that Leon does.
The back of the boat is set up for the rudders and the Arnesons.

I know how fast Dave Scott and the 36 has run, what I'm saying is that from a standing start at LOTO, Scott is pushing it to the 180-190mph range. This is very respectable, I just don't see how they can get much more out of those things in that event. They have a couple of things working against them at the shootout.
1. Heat. It is very hot and humid that time of year = less HP
2. Length of course. 1 mile isn't very far to build up that kind of speed.
3. Standing start. You gotta get one going awfull quick to get er done in 1 mile.
4. Course conditions. Lots of rollers come up that course, causing guys to lift.
Don't get me wrong, those guys always seem to up there speeds every year, but 230mph at the Shootout maybe a tough one considering all of the veriables, but what do I know. Now 230mph under the perfect conditions and no set course length, maybe. I wish them tons of luck and look forward to hearing their progress. :D

I asked Johnny what his GPS said after the run and he said 189.
It was hotter than hell there that's for certain. As for a completely standing start? Not exactly. Johnny and Callan both had an "on plane" start in comparion to the rest.

Skater is definitely raising the bar with the proliferation of its flat deck across all of its lengths....and the with wide beam 30 and 32's....seems like it is extending its lead in the game. With the exception of MTI and Nortech, I think the others, West Coast included have some retooling work to do to update their stylings...

Wait, now that I think about it, maybe it was about some kind of boat or something. :notam:

Lesson Learned, I just want to say that the 50 & over comment was not nice. As you are drooling over the 25 yr old bikini contest girls, just remember that verry few of them will look that good in their 30s & 40's (which we are) & after a few kids as well. So if you are lucky your woman still looks good after 30. Just my .02

PGirl, your photos and the girl's group photos look hot....and I agree with you, I give much respect to the women that look good in the 30's, 40's, and 50's more so then the ones that have no impact from Mother Nature yet! :)

Hey...I didn't get invited either. :squiggle:
I guess it's true that movie stars forget their little friends when they become famous.

Lesson, I made an '06 calendar with dragboats and small offshores. I'll be setting up a site soon for ordering, probably on HotSpots West and V-drives.
I'm sorry if I took your comment the wrong way. Just order a calendar and I'll forgive you. :)

Charley you come and check out my back yard and Big B does'nt tell you to call me for the free water front tour? :D By the way that 30 is owned by the guy I got the Speed Racer 28 Skater from. This boat is running in the high 140s. Boat is first rate and even nicer in person.
haha... I actually did try to get your addy while I was up there but Bryan said you were at a boat show that weekend... I'd never come to your neighborhood and not say Hi man :D
