I have no idea what to call it. I am looking for one of those gas powered propulsion things I see the kids using in the channel. You hold it in front of you and it pulls you through the water. They look like they are pretty cool and I am trying to find one for a gift.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Trimm,
There was a guy in Oklahoma sell those things. I think they are
a two stroke mini-jet or something. I've also have seen them,
but never messed with one.
Here is his website, he also posts sometimes over on Offshore Only.

We've been looking at these, since seeing some at Havasu. All the local dive/scuba shops can get them, if they're not in stock.

SeaDoo water scooter, but I can tell you the one I got for an X-Mas gift is not strong enogh to pull me around and I am not heavy. Works great for the kids though ;)
Looks like they have a supercharged one that would probably do the trick for an adult  :D

Hey Blaine,
Thanks for your input. How much did you pay for it?

The electric ones are slow but can go under water. The gas powered 2 strokes are pretty quick, but need the snorkel up for air. They can't dive.
For $1k you are better off buying a used jet ski for the kids. :p

Back at Lake of the Ozarks those thing were popular as hell! The one's I've used were called aqua scooters and were gas powered and ran in the $500 range
