Looking for a 454 [Archive]

I'm thinking about changing my screen name to 454Rocket if ya get my drift... Any decent 454 Jet boat engine set-ups out there for sale? Might throw it in a Nordic 21' Daycruser.

My local race engine builder had a short block that a guy never picked up. I am not sure of the cubes, but it started life as a 454.
The guy originally had the machine work only done. Built it at home. Lost a valve. Started lawyer proceedings with Manley over supposedly faulty valve. Meanwhile, paid said builder to start on freshening the motor. One new JE piston, rebalance, re-set the bottom end. When I saw it, builder said that all was 8 months ago, he hadn't heard a thing. At a year he tries to contact owner and then if no go, or doesn't want to pay, he sells the part(s). I can see if he still has the short block, if you would like? And if so, how much he would sell or complete the motor for.
He said it was a jet boat motor.

Ok. Probably be Mon or Tues. Can't get over there tomorrow. That was about 4 months ago, too. I will check and let you know.
