Would this camshaft create reversion in a 454 w/ EMI and stainless risers?
Comp Cam 11-420-8 Hydraulic roller
215/215 @.050, .566/.566, 110* LSA
The cam is already installed in a recently purchased boat

You have water cooled manifolds or headers that have water injected into them?? if manifolds where does the water enter the exhaust stream?

They are water cooled manifolds.
I have EMI stainless risers where the water enters the exhaust stream approx. 18-20" downstream of the manifold centerline. There is also about a 3" elevation change(down slope) from where the riser bolts to the manifold and the exhaust tip.

I'd say that you should be ok....
I'm putting a Crane 168741 cam in with .610/.632, 236/244 @ .050 and I've been told I need at least 22"....

Does anyone have any experience with this cam that Party Cat is installing. I have considered the same cam and Crane's listing states rough idle. I was just wondering about how it behaves around in a marina or backing into a slip or loading onto a trailer.

The rough idle is one of the main reasons I'm going with it..... :D

That is the most popular high performance camshaft used in marine applications. It makes some great horsepower but needs some high rpm's to get there. Installed, as it comes from Crane, it will produce maximum horsepower at 5500 rpm (around 515 HP) in a 502 with good exhaust manifolds.
If you degree the camshaft and install it with zero advance (with a 112 degree intake lobe centerline)it will produce an extra 10-15 horsepower at 5,800 rpm.
