If I want to make a larger cube motor, but not change any of the mounting hardware, do I have to stay with a Mark IV block?

I don't know a whole ton on Chevy combinations, but I do know that you can gain cubes with an offset crank grind, different rods & new pistons..without getting a different block. Just have to do the math to figure out what's what is all....

Will the bolt pattern on the front and rear be the same as with a Mark IV?

The first question is how big do you want to go?
Stock tall deck blocks will go 632 and standard decks will go 540 with out major mods to the block. Chevy even has a 572 crate engine thats ready to drop in after being marinized.
Last, yes, the world products and Merlin blocks are based off of the MARK IV blocks. If it bolts to the poutside of a 454 it'll bolt to one of those.
