I was just there a few weeks ago. The winter rains washed down enough sand to have a beach area. When I was a kid 20 years ago, I can remember swimming UNDER the big rock to get into the cave and climb to the look out at the top. Great memories of that place.
We have a trailer above the marina at Roosevelt, the water has been excellent. Don't tell anyone in the valley how good it is, I love all the smooth water. :cool:

I'm pretty sure the cove your thinking of is Party Cove. The beach has been there a few years now(they got about 5-6 inches of rain up in the mountains 5-6 years ago) and sadly the rabbit hole you could swim through is gone for now. Remember the big Black Walnut tree growing back in the cave. Hermits Cave is on the south side of the lake a little east of Party Cove.

I spent a week in az this summer and I have nothing but good things to say about the lakes. I spent a day at Saguaro with just my son and we had a ball. Then did some days with the grandchildren at canyon and was really impressed. Next summer it's az for us.... :coffeycup :coffeycup :D v-drive

Hey V-drive if you really enjoyed Canyon Lake then you would love Apache.If you are serious about coming out next summer we could plan a trip to Apache for however many days you would like.We go there all the time with our v-drives and some jets.Great place for boating and fun for children.Great coves for camping.I assume you have a RV or camper?
