ouch!!! is that a cast crank ? from those shots it isn't clear....And then the million dollar question....which came first? the break or the heat on that main bearing??

i did a similar thing about 3 years ago on a 383 stroker i built for an 81 camaro i found out the hard way that machine shops are dummies and that in no way can you internally balance a forged 400 crank.

No. Its pulled like taffy until you get the desired shape. Stick it in the oven for about an hour and you have an N crank.

OK, I took out 1 crank, 1 454 4-bolt block and 8 rods. Machine shop was really surprised it didn't chuck the rods through the block as blue as they were. Funny things happens when you spin a rod bearing at 90+ :D

I don't know about Wet Dream's stuff, but mine was stock GM. Guess that and the stock oil pump going to 6000 r's all the time was part of the problem :D
