Just trying to find out what kind of RPMs and speed your getting with what prop size... I've been having a hell of a time dialing this boat in...

Need more info. What is on there now? What have you tried?
On a different note, did you sell you Sleek?

Oops. Forgot about the canopies. Same bottom, as Bolero, though. Sorry.
Well, the labbing probably took your 32s to 31s or so. 28s are fairly common under 525s, so you may start there. If you hit the limiters, you may end up in the labbed 30 area.

....and the Bolero is 700lb or so lighter, so they probably prop those at 32 with success. I really feel you will end up with labbed 30s or regular 28s. Borrow / rent a few combos and work with it.

I would think you would be pretty close with the labbed 32's. I am running labbed 30's on my new boat with HO's. Sure it's a cat, but I think I am also heavier than you.

Well, you are about 6-6500lbs in boat and another 7000lbs in stereo, so...... :D

I have the HP 500 efi's and I hit 4800 Rpm @ 70 MPH with 4 blade 28" bravos 3/4 fuel and 4 people
10,000 # boat at Roosevelt Lake which is somewhere around 3000' (someone correct my altitude here lol )

If you are planning on going to Powell at any time, roughly 3500 feet, you had better stick with 28s, even if you hit the limiter. You are testing during cooler temps, so when summer hits, you won't be hitting it. Also, if you go up in altitude, you will be just off of the limiter. Borrow some 28s.

If he's already at 5K with basically 31s, 28s should put him over the top, just spanking the limiter - just a guess from what he has offered.

This is a good prop thread. He has labbed 26s (too little for you) and a pair of 34s (too much). However, toward the end, a few peeps jumped on with labbed 30s and such. Maybe you could get a deal from them to try them.

I am sure Kachina could just use those on another and swap you out?

I just spoke to louie @ kachina.. and he said it should have 30's...and i should be getting around 84 @ 5200... So I'll give it a try and go from there.. Hey thanks Beer-30... and old man... It was nice meeting you at havasu beer.. maybe next time we can actually get together and drink a beer... thanks again..

Same bottom, as Bolero, though.
Nope, Our Drone lowers are "borrowed or modeled after" from a single step 35 fountain minus a foot of beak, side by side the Drone towers over the Bolero, it dwarfs it in sheer size.

Very good. If the 30s don't quite give you what you need, lab them. Probably 29 would be perfection.
Next time for sure. We should have several trips out there next year.

that is very instresting.. .Hey kachina.. I sent you a p.m... When I was at kachina...i could have swore he told me the bottoms were the same.. but don't quote me.. and yes side by side.. the drone makes the bolero look small.. but louie told me it is all the top not the bottom... but I really don't know.. just what i remember being told..

Beer-30

I was looking at them side by side and I couldn't see any difference in the bottoms, but that was just from the website. In person could be a whole different story.
I figure KachinaKen would know, as he was quite in-depth during the planning of his.
And, the dihedral and transom are the same measurements, as well as the length and width. You can see the difference between the top halves, but the bottoms look identical. I would say the whole Fountain copy thing applies to both boats.

Very true! Except here we (I) go - this is what I am on the boards for. Tech. If I have a problem, I want to bounce it off of peeps who have the same equipment and may have had the same problem. Good stuff here if you look and if people stay on track. Good posts.

Kachina uses the same bottom mold for the 34’ Bolero and the 34’ Drone, they also use the same bottom for the 30’ Shadow and the 30’ Drone as well as the 26 Force and the 26’ Drone. And whos knows what else. :)

Supposedly the 26 is from Conquest. Well, now Conquest, but back in the day when Group-1 was starting.

no problem, I have a set of 32 that didnt work at all for me I lost RPMs and speed. I also have a set of lab 28's that were better getting me out of the hole quicker but my top end was 80-82, so 30s are better all around prop for my 32 footer, let me know what you end up with
