So I'm moving to Vegas and yesterday while I'm driving back to CA from dropping off a load of stuff, I stop in Yermo for gas and...
This is the dog I found at the Gas station in Yermo yesterday on my way home from Vegas. After 15-20 minutes of walking around with her trying to find an owner with no luck, I talked to the station owner. He told me she had been left there some time ago and has been giving her a little food every day but not really caring for her. I decided after seeing her almost get hit 4 times and nearly wondering onto the freeway that I had to do something. SO I brought her home.
She is Very cute, gets along great with our dogs, is really sweet, and a little timid. She seems to be house broken and maybe 10 months to a year old. She is a total lover. From what I can tell she is a chocolate lab and maybe pit-bull mix. She has the same exact markings as Tara (my 14 year old), who is also a pit-bull lab mix and about the same size only Tara is much fatter. I would guess she is about 35-40 lbs at the most. She really is a good dog! We have not decided what to do with her just yet. We already have 4 dogs so adding another may not be a good idea. I think we will hang on to her for a few days and maybe try to find her a good home. The little woman wants to keep her but being in the middle of a move it really isn't the best time to be adding to the family. Just not sure what to do. Hmmm.
If we decide to give her away would anyone here be interested? We have a no kill shelter out here where I rescued my Rotty/lab mix. I also rescued my pit/lab mix from another shelter in San Diego so I'm a big fan of the shelters. However, I just hate to take a dog there if I can find her a home on my own. Anyways, if anyone is interested let me know.

Like I said we're not sure what we are going to do with her but I did want to see if there was anyone out there looking for a dog like this.

i rescued a dog from a gas station several years back on the corner of hwy 395 and hwy 18.. ended up being the best dog i ever had.. she was a pit bull mix of some kind.. old age took her about 4 years ago.
make up some flyers to hang in the area next time you go out that way.

Mutt dogs are the best. I wish I was closer, I'd take her off your hands for you...
If she's still with you when you get to Vegas, let me know.

Awwwww, what a cutie. That is awesome you rescued her. If you keep here there any longer you will grow attached and just end up keeping her :p . Sounds like it's 5 doggies for you.

That's very cool of you. Believe it or not, this guy was a stray. Signs were put up and the local shelters were notified. Nobody claimed him. He is the best dog and couldn't imagine life without him. :)

your a lucky girl, it's hard to find a good dog, but the rule has always been, humans don't choose their dog, the dog chooses you.

LOL--exactly why I said she was lucky to find him......
I still have a hard time believing some people are so cruel as to leave her behind. :lightsabe I seriously doubt it was a Chevy Chase accidental thing.

I agree, someone thought "what a cute puppy" then decided "this is too much work" what a shame some people think animals are so dispensable. (sp?)
