A lot of the Hotels have special shows for free, which even at that price are pretty bad :squiggle:
The fountains are cool as mentioned.
I was in Vegas last Monday/Tuesday with not much time, I walked to a few hotels which always amazing how they build these hotels inside and out.

Fremont Street Experience (downtown) is cool (http://www.a2zlasvegas.com/fse/fsevent.html). While you're there, check out the downtown casinos -- you can still find single and double deck blackjack in the downtown casinos if that interests you. Have fun! :)

Bellagio and Fremont Street Experience are both great choices... I also think New York, New York is a well done themed hotel.... Hard Rock and Mandalay have great pools....good luck!

I was thinking the same thing. This hotel is in old Vegas but very cool to walk around. THis is not the first hotel you think of when thinking of Vegas.

If you like good beer you can go to the Hoffbrau House. they have great food and beer. This place is an exact replica of the original place in Munich germany. It is kiddy corner from the Hard Rock. :crossx: :crossx:

the wife and i go often.. we are also planning a trip there around the middle of novembe for our anniversary. if you would to see some shows there is a place near the MGM Grand that sells discount show tickets, i don't know the exact address but the desk people at the hotel you are staying at should know. we normally valet park the truck then walk or take the tram.. much better then driving. do you know where you will be staying??

We are going to be staying off the strip at a place called The Railroad Pass. Has anyone ever been to that casino? We would like to see a few shows while there; we will be there the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after Thanksgiving. Any suggestions as to what shows to see?
Thanks.

I hope you like people. I think that is the # 1 biggest weekend in Vegas. Barstow to Vegas race was on that weekend, years back. I remeber the drive home on Sun. after 150 mile race on Sat. :( Have fun.

The RR pass is in Boulder City...........A small casino 20 miles from the strip. Was just there last night............we used it as a bathroom break. Are you sure you want to stay there? This place is rinky dink and is closer to the Hoover dam than the strip.
Zumanity and "O" are the hot shows going on.

yep.. thats the place!
some good shows i have seen are.
Lance Burton: if you like magic http://www.lanceburton.com/
"V": its variety show with some very good acts.. fast paced.. its at the aladdin now. http://www.vtheshow.com/
The amazing Jonathon: comedy magic.. he is at the Sahara. http://amazingj.com/
Ovation The Show: its another variety show and its good.
Legends in concert: it was ok.. but the seating is a bit cramped.
thats just some of the shows i have seen.. i wont list'em all. :)
you will be staying way off the strip.. but most of the hotels out where you will be at offer a free shuttle service.. just be sure to check the times these shuttles run because if you miss the last one its gonna cost you an expensive cab ride.
i had to go to vegas 10 years ago on business during the thanksgiving holiday and it was a madhouse!! i doubt you will get tickets to any decent shows.. the good shows are always booked on the weekends.. but that weekend is going to be next to impossible.
if your renting a car or driving near the strip.. don't plan on getting anywhere fast.
good luck and have fun. :D

RR Pass is a good ways from the strip. I'm in Henderson and I'm 20 miles. RR is another 10 miles farther. You'd be driving right past my house on the way there. I bet it's cheap though!
You may want to try Sunset or Palace Stations. They are closer, decent and cheap.
Of course, RR is closer to the lake! :D

We got our tickets there last time we were in Vegas. We saw the Anthony Cool's Hypnotist Show at Paris. HILARIOUS :D . It was VIP section (first 5 rows) for only $35...totally worth it since we were dying laughing. That's where we ran into Ron Jeremy (<---- see avatar).
Have fun.

you sure can't beat their prices thats for sure.. i can't speak for everyone but we use them alot and always get very friendly service, even if they are busy.
you never know who your gonna run into in vegas.. i hear Ron Jeremy is suppose to be a pretty cool guy in person. over the years we have bumped into a few celebs in vegas.. mostly from a distance.. must be because of the restraining orders. :hammerhea
i have a pic somewhere of me with cindy crawford.. kind of, i was in the very front of the pic and she was standing in the very back.. but we are in the same frame. :D

One thing about staying out that way is the drive into Vegas at night. Pretty cool coming up over that hill at night and seeing all those lights down there.

This may sound crazy, but if you're into outdoor sports of any type, you've gotta go see the Bass Pro Shop at the Silverton Hotel. It will absolutely blow your mind! Even my wife, 12-year old daughter AND mother-in-law were amazed by this place. It is huge! It has several monster aquariums, fresh & saltwater. They sell equipment for nearly every outdoor sport you can imagine, including boats, guns, golf, fishing, hunting, hiking... You want to look at rifle scopes? They have literaly hundreds to choose from. Gun safes? Dozens on display. Rifles? Hundres on display. Want to shoot your new rifle? They have an indoor range. Need you rifle worked on? A custom gunsmithing shop on the premisis. Want to try out that golf club before you buy it? There's a driving range. I could go on for many more lines, but you get the idea.
Although it is call Bass Pro Shops, it has way more stuff than just stuff for Cooter and Bocephus to go catch fish. A must see for any sportsman.

Everyone here has posted very good info for you jmm.....I would recommend "O" or "Mystere" by Cirque du Soleil. It will blow your mind...even if it is a little pricey, ok way pricey, but we have been more than 2x to both and it always has us mesmerized. It is truly a Vegas experience! You can probably still get tickets to one of the shows on one of the nights you are visiting by going to ticketmaster even, or that tixs4less place people had mentioned.
The Railroad Pass place is the furthest hotel from Vegas without leaving the valley, so you may want to look into the Stations that CAHotRodBoy had mentioned. www.stationcasinos.com
The Wynn just opened in Spring and with any new place, I would say it's gotta be worth seeing, although I have to admit we haven't even been there yet. :frown:
And if you're into eating out and eating well and enjoying the experience, I can help you out there. Let me know. :rollside:
