Sema starts tuesday! Mti with 1075's in it will be in the parking lot. This boat ran 160mph at sarasota on the limiters. With bigger wheels the boat should reach high 165-170 range!

That's a 42?? I thought that was a 39. Please correct me if i am wrong. Didn't know MTI made a 42 like that, thought it only came in canopy or in pleasure with a cabin.

I know they just finished it in time for the shootout, so maybe it's a new model ? They also have a new 6 seater 44 coming out (I know the guy who's getting the first one):

I've got a pic of the new Bacardi turbine boat, but I'll get in trouble if I post it. Ahhh, I'll send it to HH and let him get in trouble :D

Thanks E, I like looking at them so I figured someone else would too.
No bites yet. He put it in with lousy pics and the price a little too high, but oh well. Someone will call if they're interested.

The MTI's all seem to be the same boat bottom. The 39, 42, 44.
I think they just put a different deck with different overhang on the back to make the different length.
I know the 44' is for the Arneson/BPM setup with a rudder but the rest all seem to be the same.
All their boats have the exact same beam.
The 6 person cockpit looks far better than the 4 person.

That's where you store your bumpers, lines, supplies, etc.
Notice there is no cockpit space.

I think there is one on each side of the boat.
Looks like it would be hard to see out of the boat with that large fiberglass pieces in the front.

I had the chance to check out this boat at the Shootout and by chance we visited with the two ladies that did all the interior stitching. They were very proud of their work and were having a ball getting to see the finished boat for the first time.
If those two are any indication of the pride that everyone takes in their product, MTI will definitely be on TOP of the boat building world for quite some time!
We also went to a party at Randy Kent's place (Speed Racer MTI owner) and gave Speedy the detailed once over. Clean and detail doesn't even BEGIN to describe the product MTI is putting out!
I can't wait to see what's coming down the line in the next few years, it should be outstanding!
After viewing the paint on Speed Racer, I am thinking of selling my DCB with all new paint by the same shop that did Speedy. The shop is close to me, and they have only BEGUN to tap into their abilities!

Gibson's was on the flat trailer. Scism's old boat was on the tilt trailer next to it. Both incredibly sick. I thought the boat part of SEMA was kind of weak this year. The 42' MTI was there and the Herbst Skater, but that was pretty much it for the big boats. There was a 38' Eliminator v-hull, then some little deck boat stuff and the ARC Audio Ultra, but nothing like last year. :(

I agree. The boat display at SEMA was definitely weak. It seems to have gotten smaller and smaller. The first year I went in 2003, they had a whole section out front dedicated to boats. That MTI is freakin sweet though and Herbst new Skater was damn impressive also.

Sema tried the boat thing about 10 years ago and it floundered then tried it again 3-4 years ago through last year in the form of the marine pavillion, had a bunch of boats but very little traffic through the section in comparison to the rest the show. It obviously floundered again. About 10 or so boats in the far corner of the parking lot was it.
