how to tell if usb ports are 2.0 or the other ones?
Buying an external hard drive and the guy said I needed 2.0 ?

Any computer built in the last year or 2 will have 2.0....

IEEE should be considered....that's the way I went as my desktop was not 2.0 USB...

What is IEEE? The kid at the computer dept. was talking about a USB 2.0 PCI expansion card. He might as well be talkin' Japanese!!

I bought a 250 gig external drive a few months ago. It works @ 2.0 on my desk top, but my lap top doesn't have the 2.0 but it still works, just a little slower. :rolleyes:
