All you have you have to do is put the states where they go.... (http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/states_experiment_drag-drop_Intermed_State15s_500.html)
The first time I did it (the only time BTW), I got 94% and my average error was 9 miles. Good luck!

Cool game, I will have my kids do it later.
My first time, a popup opened on my screen so I set the state off to the side so I could close it........and my error was 1500 miles  :lightsabe

What were the easteners thinking when they were declairing states back in the day. The squares in the west are much easier to put together!

My daughter who's in the 9th grade got 23 avg miles her 1st try and 8 avg miles her 2nd try! But she had an advantage: she studied the USA only 3 yrs ago. I got 48 miles on first try, only because I helped her study a little 3 years ago!

98% Missed Nevada by 66 miles, and it was the first one I got - and I didn't know it had to be nearly right on. 315 seconds.
It would be a lot harder if you had to place the state on its spot with no other states in place. I would have probably only gotten a 96% then..... :D

I got 98% and 5 miles. Kinda hard to place Tennessee with nothing else on the map! Those of us with social science and history degrees have a little advantage, I guess. :coffeycup

What advantage? I have a business degree(from CSUF no less), and got 98% with an average error of 1 mile. I would have been f'd if they gave me Tennessee with no other states around, and a few others in that region. Well, I guess I had an advantage since I had to travel to nearly every state as a sales guy at one point.

Travelling also gives an advantage. Jason travels a lot also, and got a high score.

100% first time, 0 mile error, 783 seconds. Whoohoo!!!
Almost got hit on Missouri though. Got lucky on it and Oklahoma. It filled in the Great Lakes states, border states and the coast kind of first for me, which are easy to register because of the coastline.
