Going to a dinner tonight and taking some appetizers. Who has some great ideas? I was thinking about crab stuffed mushrooms and something else. Catered life, what you got? Something fairly simple, tasty, but not overwhelming.

Bacon wrapped scallops.............cant' eat just one. If you don't have time to make them you can cheat..........I've seen them in Sam's Club. :p

get some little smokies, put them in a crock pot with some brown sugar.. mmm mmmm.. my wife also makes them in the oven somehow. no matter how many of these she makes, they all go quick.
this was good.. get some chili sauce, grape jelly toss in a crockpot then put in some premade meatballs, makes a good sweet/sour deal.
the wife has hundreds of crock pot Hors d'oeuvre recipes.

That sounds great! But you could pretty much wrap a strip of bacon around anything and it'd be a great hors d'ouvre. :p

Add a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce to those little smokies in the crock pot - good stuff.

Mushrooms stuffed with SCRAPPLE is always a big hit in eastern Penn.
For those of you outside the area, here is one definition of SCRAPPLE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple)

Brown sugar and rum glazed shrimp with lime zest and lime juice and celantro.Use 1 cup of dark rum to 3/4 cup of brown sugar.Simmer and reduce by half with a pinch of salt and pepper.Grill the shrimp while brushing the shrimp with the glaze.Zest a few limes and quarter them. When the shrimp comes off the grill sprinkle with the lime zest and squeez the lime juice on them and top it off by sprinkling celantro on them. It's alot easier than it sounds and is awsome.

Actually, use your idea with the brown sugar then wrap with bacon. Some chick brings them to every 4th of July party we have and I shit you not, they are gone before she puts them down.
