GPS recommendations,
Well I ran into a small problem trying to tune my boat. With the original baseline tune it ran 99.0 mph on both passes. So I called Garmin's technical dept with a few questions. The bad news is that with this older unit (model 48) that 99.0 mph is the maximum speed it can register so it wonÂ’t work for any additional tuning. The good news is if the boat will run over 99 mph with only 34 degrees total timing it might really run with some additional engine tuning and boat set-up.
All GarminÂ’s new hand held GPS units lose the 1/10ths read out once they reach triple digits. So does anyone know of a hand held GPS unit that will read 100+ with the 1/10ths read out?
Thanks,
Loren

I think the answer to your question is a smaller less pitched prop and then any GPS would work.

I am glad this is brought up.
Which model do you have?
I have the Garmin Etrex Handheld, the yellow one. I hope thats not the one that only goes to 99mph, or I will have to buy a new one soon. :220v:

I have had the yellow one to 505 mph on a Southwest plane so I don't think it will be a problem. It does lose the tenths though I believe.
