i seem to recall it this way
you could buy just a pump or just a intake adapter or just a trans adapter, etc.
the h signified that the pump was part of a complete package - an "h" package - that included all the parts necessary put the pump in the boat.
then there was the packajet. that was an h package with a motor included.
such trivia :(

I think that "H" means the pump came with a hand hole cover extension.

As of right now Berk has no idea what it means. I am calling Legend right now !!!

Berk just called and said that the "H" was the manufacture month, so that would be Aug.
Legend says the "H" is for the package that was sold, "H" package was intake pump and transom adapter.

Berk just called and said that the "H" was the manufacture month, so that would be Aug.oh come on. there's noone at Berk now that was even born when Berk was selling h packages.
Legend says the "H" is for the package that was sold, "H" package was intake pump and transom adapter.so legend knows berkeley jets better than berk. :)

If by "Berk" you mean CPPerformance, I'm "guessing" that they are just "guessing". Has anyone ever seen a JC-A-A or JC-A-B......etc for any of the other months? I don't know if any of the Berkeley employees were included when CP bought Berkeley.
Legend says the "H" is for the package that was sold, "H" package was intake pump and transom adapter.
Since Legend was founded by ex-Berkeley employees, I'm "guessing" this is a more likely correct answer. :)

H was used to denote the special "Havasu" edition pump. The H pump won't run correctly unless there is at least one topless drunk female on-board. :D

Thanks for the replies. I had also called CP and they gave me the month of manufacture story, but like Oldsquirt said I've never seen a JC-A-A,B etc.... There a plain old JC-A in my Miller. I do like the Havasu answer however. If anyone finds out anything else please let me know......Thanks, Chris.

The "H" does mean that the pump went with an intake and transom "H"ousing. This is in a Berkeley 12JC jet drive overhaul manual page 51. Dated 6-16-72. Also dave at Legend does know more about berk pumps than anybody at Berkeley. He was at berkeley for 15 or 20 years berfore he started Legend.

I'll go along with that, I have an 12JC-A and an A-H, and there's a considerable difference in the transom housing... much wider
Here's the "H"
