Hey Wes,
Just picked up this Princeton Tec Shockwave dive light, insane brightness from 3 large LED's. 2 pwr settings, 10 hrs burn on high and 20 on low. I am now ready for my night dive on Sat at casino point.

Think that is bright wait til you try a uk light cannon hid.I have one and it is very bright.gets good burn time too.One drawbacks are the bulbs a replacement cost 100 bucks(i paid around 160 i think for the new light)when they came out which seemed to have the probs.I am still on the same bulb just dont drop them or do anything stupid.
I use it for lobster diving and for some reason being as bright as it is it doesnt spook them as my previous c8 did.

I checked it out today also but the concentration is more then I was looking for.yours is much better in low viz for sure but I wanted the color temp of the LED and the burn time. I also think the LED will last about 10 times longer than the HID. BUT, if you are a rescue diver HID is what they all pack from what im told.

The first time i dove with the hid i couldnt believe it i had seemed to have another 5-8 ft of vis.My buddies were amzed they went out and bought themselves one too.Back then leds werent out yet.
Seems some really like the leds thought too.Guess it depend on your needs i usually change my batts every 5 dives no matter what. The batts still have juice in them(just use them for a port radio or something) my night dives usually avg an hour.

Cat is nice.I am use to laguna 10-15 ft vis and surge.First night dive at cat i did i dropped down couldnt believe i can see as far as my light would go then tap i hit bottom sand at 40 ft could still see the light from the boat.felt as calm as a pool.
I wont do night boat dives agian unless i have a dry suit or it is summer time and warm.LOL Get out of cold water you end up getting cold til next dive, take off suit then you go back into wet wetsuit dont know which is worse.
The day dives at catalina are bitchen esp in the kelp areas lots to see there

I never got to dive with lights... we were busy covering up our watches with red lenses so they didn't luminesce. My entire world was wrapped around a little green bubble of light on a compass and depth gauge on my attack board.
Light looks killer though. That is what I would run if I were to dive at night again. I borrowed a big Princeton Tech that took a lantern battery for lobstering at night a couple of times. Those are great lights. The LED makes it that much nicer...

Late January is boat show season for me. Tough sell. Late this month we are cranking out number 2 and 3, so again a tough sell.
I do want to go though. May have to wait until I have my feet underneath the shop a little better though before I can break.
Looks like a blast. I have never dove up there.
