Ours out here in middle TN is $2.04 for regular and right at $2.50 for diesel.....still pathetic for diesel but at least its coming down......

Our prices in western Canada are at pre-Katrina levels. :)
Gosh... I wonder if they'll go through the roof again next summer, just before the high consumption season? :idea:

$2.49 is the lowest I have seen it around where I live for regular. Sorry, I don't pay attention to diesel.

At least it's working it's way back down a little... let's hope it keeps on going... but I doubt it :rolleyes:

My guess sooner than that as soon as they switch over to heating oil and the biggest reason of all --- when other countries stop sending the U.S. extra fuels due to Katrina.
What most fail to notice is this: since the hurricanes shredded our Gulf of Mexico oil and gas capacity, Europe has been sending us 2 million barrels of crude oil and "refined product" a day from its collective strategic petroleum reserve. The "refined product" includes 800,000 barrels of gasoline, plus diesel, aviation, and heating fuel. Meanwhile, US domestic production has fallen to around 4 million barrels of conventional crude a day. America uses close to 22 million barrels of oil a day.
Bottom line: post-hurricane, total imports have accounted for 80 percent of America's oil consumption..
Now, the important part of all this is that last week the International Energy Agency (IEA), Europe's energy security watchdog, declared that it would now end the 2 million barrel a day shipments to the US.
It will take some time for the shipments to unload and for it to go through the system. Problem is the GOM will not be back up by then.
Oh $2.15/3.29 today.

Yesterday I found a place in Fullerton that had diesel for 2.55. A lot better than the 3.00+ I've been paying. :eat:
