Is $450k a pretty good deal for a boat that's been upside down?

Shouldn't there be some kind of disclaimer on the ad about it flipping over?

I remember that is what he had for sale for before he flipped it, maybe the extra $50 k is for the seabrook TX guy as a commission like someone said before, who knows

People that do that are assholes.
When I was looking for a boat one time, this guy ran an add that read.
"Excellant ski boat 50 hrs. Perfect condition."
So I call the guy up and explain not to waist my time. I said, if I drive out there took look at the boat it better be perfect. He say's. Oh ya, it's just like new.
I get over to his house to take a look at this perfect boat. The jerk left the boat docked on the river and never cleaned the silt off the water line.
So it ruined the gel coat. He couldn't clean it off, so he sanded the water line on the boat and spray painted over his sand job.
I was pissed. So I chewed his out and called him an asshole for waisting my time.
Freaking pricks.

My reasoning for starting this thread is because no where in the add did it say anything of the accident. That to me is wrong period...it is misleading and the typical "stick-it to the next guy attitude" that pissed me off...
It may be just fine right now but IMO if they would just have disclosed the info upfront then there would be no problem, people then could decide if they want to go further.
Maybe I have an axe to grind because it happened to me on my first boat, guy advertised it as being in near perfect contition, it was a 18" bubble deck Jet, 454 with berkly pump...I bought it not knowing the bottom had a crack 4' across the bottom...one ride and it started taking on water, I barely got back to the shore...once I contacted the guy he acted like I did the damage...I later found out he ran the boat up the shore in a drunkin rampage, he and his buddies fixed it with bondo and new carpet...
Needless to say I have since then gotten even... :boxingguy

They roll these boats in races on a regular basis, dry them off, change the fluid and have them racing the next day. I was on the boat and there wasn't a sign of damage anywhere on it. Takes more than a 40 mph roll to hurt a Skater. We're not talking about jetboats run aground here. Slight difference. :notam:

that may well be true.. but do you think he would even come close to his asking price if he said it had been rolled??

You're right... big difference the boat I bought was only 5 grand, not 500...
My point wasent the fact the boat had damage or not, it was the decieving nature of the sellers trying to pull one over just to wash thier hands of the mess...
anyway good luck on the sale...
Still looks like a nice boat...and Im sure the people buying it will have a prebuy
