Patterson Drilling, Abilene, TX yard was doing some cleanup around the yard. The forklift driver picked up a "pit" (10 ft by 10 ft by 30 ft), set it back down and called the office. "I need some people out here with shotguns." Three men showed up... as many got away as were killed...

They have the Rattlesnake round up near there every year in Sweetwater Texas. Rattlin good time!!!
There are plenty of them. Somenights on lonely roads you will see them getting the heat off the asphalt, just sittin there.

Holy shiat- if that many crawled off the place must have been thick with them. Be tough not to get bit.

Not really, its easy not to get bit. Dont step on them or grab them. The stepping on them happens once in a while and cant be helped but over half of snake bites occur on the hands. Ive personally been rattled at 3 times in the last year and havent even seen the snake that rattled. Theyre not dangerous unless you decide to f**k with them.

That pretty much sums it up. Leave them alone.
In the spring when the baby rattle snakes are around you can get rattled at over 50 foot away.
I would rather have rattle snakes than water moccasins. Cottonmouths are somewhat territorial in the spring time and like to defend their homes.
